Saluda Art Stroll, Rescheduled for November 9th, 4pm-6pm

Heartwood Gallery Meet Artist Lori Loftus

Rescheduled for Saturday, November 9, 4pm-6pm

The newly formed Saluda Art Alliance is sponsoring Saluda Art Strolls on the second Saturday of each month of the 2024 season. Come stroll downtown and visit the many shops and studios, view the art each has to offer and be treated to light refreshments. The seventh Saluda Art Stroll is Saturday, October 12th, 4-6pm. Join us at Heartwood Gallery as we welcome Saluda Artist, Lori Loftus for our “Meet the Artist” during the stroll. Lori has been creating eco dyed silk scarves and tapestries since 2012 when she learned this process at the annual Nature Printing Society workshop.  The bounty of nature provides the materials used in every 100% silk nature printed scarf.  After collecting flowers, ferns, leaves and berries, they are carefully arranged on the silk and wrapped tightly on a copper pipe and steamed in a large pot for 1 to 2 hours.  When unwrapped, a beautiful one-of-a-kind work of art emerges. Lori will be bringing extra work to share and be available between 4 and 6 to meet and greet and discuss her work. We are excited to showcase the arts of our wonderful mountain community.
